Don’t you like my sparkly background??? It’s like its already New Years.
Yes to La Vieille Ferme 2010 Vin Blanc from the Luberon, France Trés Trés Bon.

Joel Gott 2011 Sauvignon Blanc from California. Oh My Yes!

Irony Pinot Noir- Yes! This 2010 vintage hails from Monterey County. I’ve had a lot of nice Irony over the years. They have a really nice Blanc de Noir sparkling wine that used to be our choice for New Years. $13 so you can’t beat that.

Heliotrope Pinot Noir, 2009 California $19 Not great, Pinot Noir is always a tough one. I either love it or hate it. This one was a No.

Every now and then you get to the No’s but that is what I’m here for. To weed out the chaff for you. This Volver had such promise- a cool logo, 2009 from La Mancha Spain. A Tempranillo grape which I usually love but, this was just to heavy, “the alcohol overpowered the fruit” to quote Virginia Madsen in Sideways. Basically this was on it’s way to some sort of Moonshine. $16.99 on Amazon- WTF Amazon sells wine?

Yes, I really like this Torrontes from Zolo. 2011 from Argentina. It was great with my clam chowder and crab cakes. And it’s only like $11 or something.

Pine Ridge 2011 Chenin Blanc & Viognier. Yes! This is a nice white for hot days or warm nights or maybe just some spicy food. Light but with some good body and flavor. Although I am a huge Viognier fan so I may be biased.
Check it out only $14.

Yes Yes Yes to The Innocent, 2008 Viognier from Victoria, Australia. I can’t remember how much we paid for this one but still under $20. But, it doesn’t matter it’s no longer in the stores in Kansas City. If you see this snatch it up.
No to Cambria? I know crazy right? Maybe it was the long drive or the incredibly bad food we had in Sidney, NE but, this wine just didn’t taste right. We had one glass and poured the rest down the drain- a venial sin I’m sure.
Cambria 2009 Chardonnay, Katherine’s Vineyard {sorry Kate : ( }. Santa Maria Valley
Yes, Bonterra Viognier, 2010 an organic wine from Mendocino County, CA. Very nice and fruity bought at BevMo in Pasadena for roughly $13. Hmmm the cheap wines in California are really doing much better than the cheap wines in Missouri—-Or is it the sea air?
Guenoc, Lillie’s Collection North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. Yes to that! A lovely wine to sip while watching all these beautiful Olympic athletes compete. Named after the actress Lillie Langtry. $13 at BevMO in Pasadena, CA.
Damn it’s true California wine prices are SOOOOO much cheaper than Missouri. Tell me again why didi I move away?

California Karma— Yes! Last night @SpinPizza we bought this bottle only $18. Delicious and if I find it at the store I’m buying some.
2009,Monterey California Chardonnay

Entwine, Chardonnay California 2010
Yes! And I was a little afraid of this one. This is a wine forged from the partnership of Wente Vineyards and the Food Network. Yes that’s right the Food Network is now I guess tastemakers in the wine scene. So is this designed by committee? In any case it’s a nice wine, very drinkable and not too expensive. $12 at Cosentino’s Market in Brookside.
You can read the story here. http://www.entwine-wines.com/

Wa-Wa-Waaaaaaa. Sound of disapointment (sigh). I really wanted to like this but, just didn’t happen. No to Josh Cellars Chardonnay 2010. Granted it’s only a $13 bottle of wine but, wouldn’t buy it again.

Verum Chardonnay 2011. Yes a nice white wine from Patagonia, Argentina. $16
